May 2020- Labour of love

How different the world looks today, than even a month ago. On all levels. We thank God for His providing us with a long telescope. The changes we are going through can be seen through the lenses of an eternity, a pandemic free eternity, which makes it all much easier to handle. We need to be HOPE to those who are stuck on the findings of the microscope.

Some pictures from us- April 2020

Our flight on the 18th of March was cancelled, no surprise there. So, we have had to hunker down and see where the world is going. It has been a time to really be aware of how much we have to be thankful for. I can't remember I last wrote, so I will share some pictures of our last month.

Firstly, we took a trip to the Canadian border, Carl and the kids went over to Toronto, I with my little green passport, stayed behind. I stayed in Buffalo, and now know why Buffalo wings are called Buffalo wings.

 This excitement came as they watched a car go through a automatic carwash ;)

Then we had to make a trip to Washington for paperwork. President Trump came by after his meeting to organise the States actions in this Corona stories. We waved, not sure he noticed.

So, yes, like most of the world we have spent a lot of time at 'home'. We are previliged to be in a confined to a very beautiful spot as spring seems to creep closer and closer.

A little update

Just so you know we are still alive:

But like everywhere there are people who desperately need Jesus. Here we are sitting in a Free Mason lodge. It is so open and part of the history of America.

So, we arrived on the 26th of December after a good flight. The children barely had signs of the change in time. Their mother was another story....

It was lovely to be welcomed by family:

 

We are slowly settling in our new living space. Trying to get our heads around all the new things. The weather has been extremely mild, giving us a few moment to collect our wits.

We are missing our friends, OK I am, but choosing to ignore the emotions and embrace the adventure.

Time in SA

This will not be sent to people individually, so you are here completely by choice;)

We spent two and a half weeks in South Africa, ending off our current African stint. We arrived in the end of a 8 day rain period, which we loved. We spent a lot of time at my sister's house, partly working on the storage of our stuff.

 



Inbetween we spent a weekend with good friends out on their farm:

 

 



We took a few day trips with the children, enjoying the great weather:

 

 

And ended our time celebrating a lovely early Christmas together:

 

 

We said goodbye on Christmas morning. Goodbye Africa (for a while)!!
